In the fall of 2025, my mom and I were working on Pachelbel’s canon for a portfolio of gig and wedding music. Weddings are not a regular part of worship times but they are a great picture of God’s faithfulness to his bride and the church. A wedding is a natural time to stand in awe of how God knits two people into one flesh. Pachebel’s Canon is the single most requested piece of music for weddings. Every classical musician knows it by heart. At Doran Music Studio we want to give joy through our performances but we also want to arrange music for others to enjoy at special times like weddings. I’ve arranged several pieces for two instruments. However, I felt compassion for the cello.
