It is a messy emotion and the basis of life.
June is a season of growth, much good and many weeds and surprises. The heat can be oppressive and so can the sense that “I am behind.” Because we love the Lord we want to serve him with skill and excellence in music but there is always someone better and someone worse than us in every area. Doubts creep in about our significance and the market value or understanding of ourselves and our work.
As I have been making a new arrangement of the King of Love I reflect on the different stages of people I love through this work.
- Very young are not too foolish and weak to be loved
- Teenage are not too annoying and fickle in their emotions to be loved.
- Old are not incapable of reflecting God’s strength and care even as their capacities change day to day and they are worthy of love and respect.
All are shepherded and loved with the filling of the Holy Spirit that makes us good waiters. June is not a harvest season here and growing takes waiting. creating our lifestyle or our life’s work, creativity and “making” of beauty have a significant role to play in our abundant life at Doran Music Studio and I look forward to loving and helping about 65 people this fall. 10 private students, 5 students in an online Music and Materials Class and 50 students in Music Appreciation.
God’s will is that we are fruitful and multiply good to serve one another in the body of Christ and in the world. We make musical things to love people.
