A Masterclass to Remember: The New Mozart Sonata Duo for Violin and Bassoon with Chattanooga Music Teachers Association.
This past week, we had the privilege of presenting a masterclass performance of the newly arranged “Mozart Sonata Duo” for Violin and Bassoon (or Cello) by Dr. Nicole Doran—a work that beautifully bridges the elegance of Mozart’s chamber writing with the unique timbral blend of these two instruments Mozart loved.
The event was a celebration of both artistry and collaboration, showcasing the versatility of the bassoon as a chamber instrument alongside the expressive brilliance of the violin. Our performers brought the music to life with precision, warmth, and dynamic interplay, capturing the wit and charm that make Mozart’s duos so engaging. The audience was captivated by the balance of lyricism and virtuosity, and the piece proved to be a wonderful addition to the chamber music repertoire.
