I’m impressed with how much of this process is about making connections and dealing calmly with a lack of information. I feel like I don’t have TIME to deal with 2 step authentication to teach music appreciation; BUT I am going to use what little time I have to stay connected with the freshmen who have committed a semester to listening to good music in more detail. So here I go walking to the IT help desk again.
As the semester starts and we see new places and faces I hear my Sunday school teacher’s voice praying; Jesus; take us by the hand and lead us.“ There are lots of uncomfortable challenges that a life of learning music brings but our Shepherd will keep us safe. We sometimes have a mustard seed of faith that something good could be done with a new sonata, song, recital, or technical skill but he truly knows all. So we can rest and rejoice in the love God shares with us through the medium of music and leave the success of our efforts for him to evaluate!
