As I write to my own mom I think of all the patience, hope, endurance, and trust she demonstrated as she raised us. She was happy with every flower we gave her. She smiled and clapped and sang along as I practiced. She went out to support my concerts and visited me when I went to grad school. She told me stories about learning how to conduct when she was little. I am sure she sang me the first songs I ever heard.
Most of the students I have worked with have had loads of support from their moms. They seem to have a special place in their hearts for the joy and beauty that music brings to a family. Doran Music Studio wants to celebrate all the women who have nurtured others in music and been the audience and special friend with a heart of love.
